Hilton Dead Sea Resort & Spa

Hilton Dead Sea Resort & Spa

Project Overview

Location

Dead Sea, Jordan

Project Type

5-Star Resort

The design of Hilton Dead Sea Resort & Spa is expressive of the dramatic terrain and portrays the hotel’s elegant character. The architecture is ancient in overall form and massing, but contemporary in detail and experience.

The design of the resort takes full advantage of the beautiful setting of the Dead Sea, whilst respecting the important balance between nature and built form. The massing of the buildings, along with their footprints and orientations, have been meticulously studied to ensure that they complement rather than dominate the surrounding natural beauty.

The consistent stone base and lighter rendered external wall provide a solid yet modest tone to the building exterior, respecting the idea of integration rather than separation with the surroundings. Wooden pergolas, simplified arches and patterned features were used to apply the right amount of detailing to highlight the proportion and the rhythm of the exterior façade elements and to enhance the interior spatial experience.

The Arabic spatial experience is intricately woven into the resort's layout through thoughtful transitions from narrow dynamic spaces to expansive static courtyards. These carefully crafted pathways guide guests towards stunning views of the Dead Sea while linking various hotel wings to the main lobby area. Such design choices invite exploration while maintaining a cohesive flow throughout the resort, ultimately enriching visitors' interactions with both the architecture itself and its breathtaking surroundings.
